Claremont Center for the Mathematical Sciences

The Fall 2008 meeting of the Southern California and Nevada section of
the MAA will be held Saturday, October 11, and hosted by Scripps College
in Claremont. The meeting will feature a fabulous quartet of invited
talks:
* Mathematics as Art in Contemporary Drama by Stephen Abbott
* The Weapon of Choice by Bruce Yoshiwara
* The Lost Notebook of Ramanujan by George Andrews
* Math in the Movies by Tony DeRose (Pixar Animation Studios) Faculty
and students (undergraduate and graduate) are also invited to submit
short proposals for 15-minute talks in the Contributed Paper Session of
