2011 HMC Mathematics Conference (February 4-5, 2011)
The Department of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College will host the twelfth annual Harvey Mudd College Mathematics Conference on Friday & Saturday, February 4–5, 2011.
The theme of this year's conference is Broadening Participation in the Mathematical Sciences.
The conference opens on Friday evening with a public lecture delivered by Dr. Robert Bell '72. Saturday features lectures and a panel discussion with lots of time for discussions and casual interactions.
The panel will be comprised of individuals from industry and from all academic levels (students, postdoctoral scholars, junior faculty, senior faculty) discussing the question: How can one work toward broadening participation in mathematics at all levels of one's career?
The conference is sponsored by the Department of Mathematics at Harvey Mudd College, the Claremont Center for the Mathematical Sciences (CCMS), and the National Science Foundation (NSF).
