This lecture will discuss the trials and tribulations of imaging the human eye in vivo. Specifically, Dr. Richdale will review the application of new imaging acquisition techniques such as anterior-segment optical coherence tomography (OCT) and ultra-high field magnetic resonance imaging (7T MRI) in the study of presbyopia. The importance of objective image analysis methods will be discussed -- both highlighting the application of novel image segmentation of the ciliary muscle and the need for continued development of image analysis for OCT and MRI.
