How Hot is Your Geometry? A Tropical Excursion

Named by French mathematicians in honor of a Brazilian colleague who pioneered "min-plus algebra", the term "tropical" only refers to the French impression of Brazil. But make no mistake; tropical math is still pretty hot! In this talk I will share with the audience all that I know about tropical mathematics, which may or may not quench their thirst for knowledge, but will surely pass the time.
