We will discuss a family of quadratic Diophantine equations arising from a simple game which was designed to teach 3rd and 4th graders in California about probability. We will show how several important results encountered by students in their number theory course are used to answer questions about this family. If time allows, we will discuss a higher degree generalization of the family. This is a joint work with Chun Yin Hui and Roel Stroeker.
