Toric Symmetry of P^3 in Gromov-Witten theory and Donaldson-Thomas theory

In this talk I hope to give a friendly introduction to ideas surrounding toric symmetry in Gromov-Witten theory and related subjects. Specifically, I'll report on joint work with Dhruv Ranganathan, Paul Riggins and Ursula Whitcher in which we exhaustively study toric symmetries of blowups of P^3 and identify those with nontrivial action on Chow. These symmetries lift, and provide new symmetries in GW (and DT) theory. Our methods are computational and combinatorial, and may be of independent interest; relevant polytopes include the cyclohedron, associahedron, permutohedron, and in fact all graph associahedra, among others.
