The affine Hecke Algebra H is a generalization of the group algebra of a Weyl group, depending on a parameter q. Its representation theory gives a substantial amount of information about a corresponding p-adic group. We will examine a combinatorial approach to classifying the representations of H. Particular attention will be paid to the case when the parameter q is a root of unity.
